Sol Food

Today was our tourist day. We went out to Muir Woods then ate at Sol Food. It was our first time to try Puerto Rican and it didn't disappoint. The portions were humongous! An entree was served in a serving dish for crying out loud. There was a line when we got there but we didn't wait for a long time. It was exactly 56 mins. (from the parking meter) eating + waiting in line.

Seini introduced us to the Tostones. At first, it wasn't that appealing since she mentioned that it is made out of plantains, which technically are green/unripe bananas because in the Philippines, we just use it to make turon and the one that I've tried before was so hard. She ordered in anyway and it was served with cheese, tomatoes and avocados. It was delish especially with the house sauce. So, Emil and I decided that we will try it at home since it's easy to make.

I ordered the Chuletas Fritas which was pork chop with rice, pink beans (you get to choose from black or pink), pickled onion, salad and fries (fries or plantains) - if I knew that the plantains were so delicious, I would've gotten that. Emil ordered the Costillas which was pork ribs and same sides as my dish.

  Limonada Fresca

The Limonada Fresca (Limeaid) was delicious too but it was too strong for me. We think it's a mixture of Fresca and Lemonade. Another good thing about it is that it was also served in humongous mason jars that two people can share it.
