Raging Crab: Oahu's Boiling Crab

Ever since we went to Boiling Crab in San Jose, we really can't get the experience out of our heads. So... I tried looking for something similar on the internet, looked for tutorials on Youtube and recipes on recipe sites and I finally found Raging Crab. There are a lot of other places like this on the island when I searched on Yelp but this is the most accessible to us since we live in a far away land called Laie. Raging Crab is just in front of Ala Moana Walmart, which most of BYU-H students are familiar with. Emil hasn't gone home from his internship yet but I was already planning to go out with the Hernandos and Nonatos to come here and experience the seafood feast again! Since then, we brought other friends as well, Mioles and Besieras, Lana and Brian, here and I think we visit every month if I'm not mistaken. Pateet said we should have a bonus for actually recruiting people to come here and why not?! Maybe some restaurants should have that deal. haha.

Compared to Boiling Crab, this is a little bit more expensive because of course, we are in Hawaii. Everything is more expensive! Emil noticed that Boiling Crab has more seasoning as well and I love their sweet potato fries. Raging Crab doesn't have sweet potato fries but they do have Cajun fries. Not really my taste though. But the seafood is really really tasty as well! Try "The Works." Its all of the seasoning in one bag. The level of spiciness was too much for me though; given that I can't really take spicy food anyway. Emil and I ordered the mild one and I was already crying because of the spiciness! I actually loved it with the flavor though. I think it will be different if there is no hotness at all. They also have Andouille sausage and corn in the bag which I also love. The corn is sweet and it contrasts the spiciness of the seafood and the sausage is flavorful. I actually started to love Southern food when we visited San Francisco but more on this in another post.

I always like coming here though Emil and I both know its not that healthy since we've started to eat clean. Whenever we eat here, we just always make it our Cheat Meal. haha. Says a lot about the quality of food. Its a must. The first time we went there, service was okay but the latest visit, the service was impeccable. Too bad I didn't get out server's name for a little shout out.

Oh one more thing, if there's a lot of you, I think more than 8, you get a humongous shaved ice! Its FREE!
