The purpose of this interview was just to make sure that the marriage is real and I am not just marrying Emil for his citizenship (talaga lang ha? haha) which unfortunately, really happens today. Most of the questions we were prepared to answer but when I got asked why I married Emil, I was actually taken aback. As most of my friends know and even my husband, I am not a very vocal person so expressing my love through words does not come naturally for me and answering this question in front of a stranger makes it more awkward for me! Of course I needed to answer and after we went out of the office, I thought my answer was crappy. haha. What can I say, I wasn't prepared!
But now that I have more time to think about it, I guess what attracted me to Emil and eventually deciding to marry him is because first of all, he is smart. He was actually the first guy I dated that I enjoyed talking to even if its about any random thing. I just liked talking to him. (This is part of what I said to the interviewer) Another thing is he is very responsible. He looks at the future and prepares for it. He also loves his mom so much. I remember one advice given to me is to look at how a guy treats his sisters and especially his mom and that's how he will treat you. I know and I've seen how Emil treats his mom and after seeing this, I saw how he truly loves her. I am so blessed to have someone who respects women and who loves my family as much as I love them and of course, one who truly loves me as well. Plus, I can always be myself around him.Other questions we were asked:
How did we meet?
Who married us?
Where was the reception? the honeymoon?
Whose idea was it to get married?
Why did I marry Emil?
Why did Emil marry me?
We ate at Happy Garden in Chinatown after the interview. Their dim sum is so good and so cheap. We ordered 4 dim sum that has 3 pcs. each and 2 rice bowls and we paid $20.94. Not bad for 2 people. Just a heads up, they only accept cash and they are not shy to remind you to give tips. haha. Last time we got up and paid at the cashier and we didn't have smaller bills to give (so we were planning to give after the bill is paid), the lady kind of shouted at us to "Put tip on the table! Put tip on the table!" That will always be the sentence that will remind me of this place because three times I have been here, they never forget to say that. lol
